Exterior Doors, Interior Doors and even French Doors in…
The only noise more annoying than the slow drip of a faucet is a squeaky door. Every time someone in the house opens the door, the noise makes your skin crawl. You swear you can hear it from downstairs, on the opposite side of the house. It’s practically maddening. You wish you knew how to fix it. You know that you can only sand wood doors and your interior doors are made out of composite material. Whatever are you to do?!
The only way to eliminate the squeak on composite material doors is to sand away the area on the doorjamb where the door rubs. All you have to do is create a sanding tool that uses open-coat sandpaper –standard sandpaper will clog easily. Just get a pair of scissors, open-coat 100-grit sandpaper with an adhesive backing, and a narrow strip of molding to fit the area that will be sanded.
Cut the sandpaper to size, remove the backing and fix to the piece of molding. Then just sand away the area on the doorjamb where the door rubs. Make sure you stop frequently to check if the squeaking has stopped so you don’t sand away too much. And voila! The squeak, and your torment, shall be gone.
